Hi,

my name is Cecile, and I moderate (art) events, host a radio show at Operator Radio and teach at Leisure & Events Management at Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam. 

I hold a BA in Arts and Culture Studies and a MA in Intercultural Philosophy (cum laude). Since finishing up my bachelors I have been working with art in various ways, I often interview artists, occasionally curate art shows, and sometimes paint and draw in my studio. I find myself engaging with unexpected ideas about our species and psyche, and being facinated by seemingly paradoxical ideas in intercultural encounters. To illustrate, conversations with artists that I keep with me are about 'listening without seeing' with sound recordist Izabela Dłużyk, 'an ultrasound machine as an instrument' with interdisciplinary artist Amos Peled, and 'museums in Palestine and why it matters' with architect and researcher Ali T As'ad. 

This website is a process and an attempt to document my practice. Under the tab 'experience' you can see a selection of events that I hosted, on my LinkedIn profile you will find other professional experiences. A blog and a proper documentation of my artistic work, are on its way.
